Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah

Location

Arrived early and the hotel charged us for a full night at a higher rate. Did not want to discount the rate for shorter period. No mugs at breakfast for tea/coffee. Not much h variety in breakfast. Too few staff at breakfast

It smells amazing

All the best—perfect location, bright and very clean rooms. I’ve stayed here several times already and enjoy it every single time

No comment, all is at the best.

An excellent property very close to the mosque gates. Will maintained with an excellent furniture condition. It is my only distension there.

The stairs to the elevator, very dangerous

Excellent location.

Had paid for the breakfast but the restaurant had to be closed unexpectedly due to some issues. Understandable. Though some notification would have been nice. Hotel tried to compensate with lunch/dinner vouchers at neighboring hotel. Those were not good for people who wanted a breakfast before heading to the masjid for the day or those checking out mid day.

Everything about this hotel is perfect for a religious tourist that is looking for luxury. If you're traveling with your wife or family, the hotel's location, breakfast, and available car service at the reception all make it very easy to move around. The Medina culture of kindness and generosity only adds to this hotel. The hotel also smells amazing.

I do not have a bad thing to say about this hotel.

It’s only close to the holy mosque

The facility was under renovation and they did not inform us before we checked in so we can cancel our booking because it was noisy and restaurant was close for the renovation, so they ask us to go to another hotel for breakfast but unfortunately sometimes the other hotel is fully booked

Location, breakfast, cleanliness, staff

Small elevators

Excellent staff! A special thanks to Mr. Anas at reception who made check-in super smooth and made sure our room was fully prepared, including a lot of complementary goodies!

Location, staff’s services at all level, food, cleanliness

Delay in elevators during prayers times

The breakfast was the best. Location is very convenient.

Elevators are small

The check-in process was smooth and quick. The hotel itself is cozy, welcoming, and conveniently located near Masjid Al Nabawi with two entrances; one close to the mosque and the other near the shops, which made movement very easy. The room was clean and well-arranged, the bathroom was spacious and spotless, and the provided amenities were of high quality from a reputable brand. The entire experience felt warm and comfortable. Even during checkout, the team showed flexibility and kindness by allowing us extra time until 2 PM, considering it was prayer time and we had lost track of the standard checkout hour.

Nothing major stood out as negative during our short stay. Everything went smoothly, and the staff were friendly and supportive.

Location

Very disappointing hotel, not what you would expect from a Sofitel. The building is old and just renovated, and it looks nothing like the pictures on the website. The price is way too high and not worth it.Rooms are small with dull, gloomy colors.Elevators are tiny and very slow.

The location was perfect almost inside the haram. The rooms are spacious and clean. I would like to thank Anas for his support and professional services
